Round-up:
In the day's early kick-off, the Merseyside derby, it was Liverpool who once again claimed local bragging rights by beating Everton 3-1. Sadio Mane gave Everton the lead aftter just 8 minutes, before Matthew Pennigton equalised. Philippe Coutinho restored the lead for Liverpool just 3 minutes later, before substitute Divock Origi wrapped up the scoring.
Tottenham Hotspur won their fourth consecutive league match, beating Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor thanks to goals from Eric Dier and Heung-Min Son. However, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks both went off injured for Tottenham. Leaders Chelsea suffered defeat for the first time since the 4th January against Tottenham Hotspur, losing 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace. Cesc Fabregas gave the hosts a 5th minute lead, before a quickfire double from Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke in the 9th and 11th minute respectively gave Palace their fourth consecutive win. The gap between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur is just 7 points, is the title race back on? Meanwhile, Manchester United were held to their 8th home draw of the season at home to West Bromwich Albion.
Hull City gave themselves a massive shot in the arm in their fight against relegation, coming from behind to beat West Ham United 2-1. Andy Carroll gave West Ham the lead in the 18th minute, before Andrew Robertson equalised, and Andrea Ranocchia scored in the 85th minute. The same cannot be said of Sunderland though, who lost 1-0 away to Watford thanks to a Miguel Britos goal. Leicester City gave themselves some breathing space from the relegation zone after their fourth consecutive league win since Ranieri was sacked, with the goals coming from Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy.
In the evening kick-off, the South Coast derby, the teams could not be separated as Southampton and AFC Bournemouth played out a goalless draw. However, the draw was far from dull. Southampton's Dusan Tadic hit the outside of the post in the first half. In the second half, AFC Bournemouth created more opportunities, with Adam Smith hitting the post, and Benik Afobe missing a good chance himself as well. In the 78th minute, AFC Bournemouth were awarded a penalty, though Harry Arter absolutely blazed it over after getting his feet stuck in the ground - I think he had forgotten that the Six Nations tournament of Rugby was finished.
