During this stage of a Formula 1 season, a major talking point tends to arise - where the drivers will be racing the following season, and this year has been no different, arguably more intense than any (you can also say that the World Championship battle is a major talking point this season given how close it is between Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas).
Although this is not official and only speculation, it seems highly probable given that it is coming from the team boss, Toto Wolff. This regards Valtteri Bottas' future, and, although this is not certain, it is likely that he will remain at Mercedes for another year after he stepped in to replace current World Champion Nico Rosberg who announced his sudden retirement, just 5 days after winning the World Championship.
On this issue, Toto Wolff said the following:
"I think looking at his performance, it really is a no brainer.
"But it's not just about next year but also the years after. We have to put all the puzzle's pieces together.
"After the race in Budapest I will think about it some more on the beach," Wolff smiled.
"I think yes, we are 90 per cent ready [on Bottas staying in 2018]."
