Round-up:

The long wait for the Premier Legaue season finally came to an end yesterday, and, it was well worth it. Arsenal and Leicester City kicked-off the season with an absolutely thrilling match, which ended 4-3 to Arsenal thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and substitute Olivier Giroud, whilst Jamie Vardy scored two for Leicester with Okazaki scoring the other.

In Saturday's early kick-off, Watford and Liverpool could not be separated in a 6-goal match. Stefano Okaka gave the home side the lead before Sadio Mane equalised. Abdoulaye Doucoure put the home side back in front before goals from Roberto Firmino (a penalty) and Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead. However, if you thought it was over, then you were mistaken, as Watford equalised in the 93rd minute.

In the pick of the afternoon matches, champions Chelsea suffered a defeat at Stamford Bridge at the hands of Burnley. Gary Cahill got sent off for the hosts after an ugly tackle on Burnley midfielder Steven Defour. Sam Vokes gave the away sider the lead, before Stephen Ward made it 2-0, whilst Sam Vokes scored another goal to make it 3-0 to the away side at the break. Antonio Conte then introduced Alvaro Morata and he immediately made the difference, pulling one back before then Chelsea were reduced to nine men after Cesc Fabregas got sent off for a second yellow card. Also, newly-promoted Huddersfield made a dream start to their maiden Premier League season, winning 3-0 away to Crystal Palace thanks to a Joel Ward own goal and a brace from club-record signing Steve Mounie to top the table. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney scored on his return to Everton to hand them a 1-0 victory over Stoke City, whilst new signing Ahmed Hegazy also scored on his debut for West Bromwich Albion to hand them a 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth. Southampton and Swansea City played out a goalless draw at the St Mary's Stadium.

During Satruday's late kick-off, newly-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion put in a spirited performance against arguably the title favourites in Manchester City, however it was not enough, as Manchester City won 2-0 thanks to a goal from Sergio Aguero and an own goal from Lewis Dunk.
