Crystal Palace have announced that manager Frank de Boer has been sacked after just 4 league games in charge, making him the record holder for fewest number of games managed by a permanent manager in the Premier League (Les Reed was the previous record holder when he managed just 6). Palace are as yet without either a goal or point from their first 4 games after losing each game. According to the bookmakers, Roy Hodgson is the favourite to take over with odds (from Betfair) of just 1/4.

A club statement read:

"Crystal Palace Football Club have this morning parted company with Frank de Boer.

We would like to thank Frank for his dedication and hard work during his time at the Club.

A new manager will be appointed in due course and we wish Frank the very best of luck for the future.

There will be no further comment at this time."
