
Renault Sport F1 team have announced their academy line-up for the 2018 season, with two drivers - Jarno Opmeer and Marta Garcia dropped from last season. Jack Aitken will remain with the team and will be competing in the Formula 2 Championship for the 2018 season, after finishing runner-up in the 2017 GP3 Series.
Max Fewtrell will also remain with the team and will once again compete in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for the 2018 season. Christian Lundgaard will also remain with the team and will also be competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for the 2018 season, after winning the SMP Formula 4 and Formula 4 Spanish Championships in 2017.
Sun Yue Yang will also remain with the team and will be racing in the British Formula 3 Championship for the 2018 season, after competing in the 2017 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.
The three newcomers are all French drivers. Sacha Fenestraz, who earned his spot after winning the 2017 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, will be stepping up to compete in the European Formula 3 Championship. On joining the Renault Sport Academy, he said:
"I’m really happy to join such a big Academy. I think all the drivers in the Academy have benefitted well and I’m looking forward to getting started. European Formula 3 will be challenging, we have a lot of work to do but I’m very happy to join Renault and relishing the opportunity to have their support."
Victor Martins, another newcomer to the team, will be competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for the 2018 season after finishing runner-up in the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship. On joining the Renault Sport Academy, he said:
"I’m very happy and aware of the great chance I have this year being part of a Formula 1 setup. I’m looking forward to seeing the team base at Enstone, meeting all the staff and using the facilities there. This is a childhood dream coming true and a step closer to Formula 1."
Another newcomer to the team, Arthur Rougier, will also be competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for the 2018 season after winning the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship. On joining the Renault Sport Academy, he said:
