Round-up:

In Friday's match, Norwich City earned their first win since just before Christmas, after beating Birmingham City 3-1 with the goals all coming inside the opening 25 minutes. Finnish striker Teemu Pukki gave the home side the lead after 13 minutes, but just over a minute leader Birmingham's Che Evans equalised. Norwich restored their lead in the 22nd minute through Mario Vrancic, with Tom Tryball making it a third just 3 minutes later to wrap up an important win for the Canaries.

Nathan Jones' first home game as Stoke City manager had an ideal result, as they beat leaders Leeds United, who have been recently embroiled in a spygate controversy involving manager Marcelo Bielsa, 2-1. Derby County returned to winning ways after beating struggling Reading 2-1 thanks to goals from Duane Holmes and Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson. This result enabled them to close the gap to fifth-placed Middlesbrough to a solitary point as the team from the North-East drew 1-1 at home to Millwall thanks to an injury time penalty converted by Jordan Hugill. Hull City's run of seven consecutive victories came to an end after blowing away a 2-goal lead away to Aston Villa in a 2-2 draw. Martin O'Neill's first game as Nottingham Forest manager, at home to in-form Bristol City, did not go to plan as they suffered a 1-0 defeat thanks to a goal from Famara Diedhiou. Blackburn Rovers made it 3 consecutive victories after beating bottom of the table Ipswich Town by 2 goals to nil. Queens Park Rangers are now winless in their last four games after suffering a 4-1 defeat at home to Preston North End. Brentford made it back-to-back wins and 6 successive matches unbeaten after winning 4-2 away to Rotherham United, whilst Sheffield Wednesday claimed a 1-0 win over struggling Wigan Athletic.

In the evening kick-off, promotion contenders Sheffield United suffered a 1-0 loss away to Swansea City, who themselves are on a four-game unbeaten run, thanks to a goal from Oliver McBurnie which enabled to Swans to move from 14th place up to 9th in the table.
