Leeds United bounced back from their defeat away to Stoke City last Saturday with a 2-1 win away to Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United. The hosts took the lead thanks to Semi Ajayi after 28 minutes. In the 51st minute Mateusz Klich equalised, and grabbed the winner for his team with another goal in the 86th minute.
In a battle between second and fourth place going into today, Norwich City and Sheffield United played out a 2-2 draw. Onel Hernandez gave the Canaries the lead in the 11th minute, whilst veteran striker Billy Sharp equalised for Sheffield United with a penalty in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Teemu Pukki restored the lead for Norwich with a goal in the 59th minute, before Billy Sharp once again scored to level proceedings.
Blackburn Rovers ended Hull City's 10-match unbeaten run with a comprehensive 3-0 victory to keep up their perfect start to 2019 (in the Championship), with four successive wins this calendar year. The goals came from Adam Armstrong, Jack Rodwell and Harrison Reed. Meanwhile, Aston Villa ended a run of 4 consecutive matches without a win after beating bottom side Ipswich Town 2-1 thanks to a brace from Tammy Abraham, whilst Freddie Sears grabbed a consolation for Ipswich.
Meanwhile, Preston North End made it back-to-back wins after winning 2-0 away to Stoke City thanks to goals from Alan Browne and Brad Potts. Also, Nottingham Forest earned their first win since New Year's Day after beating Wigan Athletic 3-1 thanks to goals from Joe Lolley, Matty Cash and Adlene Guédioura.
