Round-up:

In Friday's match, Sheffield United contrived to blow away a 3-goal lead to draw 3-3 away to Aston Villa. Billy Sharp scored a hat-trick for Sheffield United, before Tyrone Mings, Tammy Abraham and Andre Green scored in the last 12 minutes to rescue a point.

In the early kick-off, promotion chasing Middlesbrough and Leeds United took a share of the spoils in a result which does neither team any favours. Lewis Wing gave the home side the lead in the 47th minute, before Kalvin Phillips rescued a dramatic late point for Leeds United in the 101st minute. The result does mean Leeds United retake top spot, though they may be leapfrogged tomorrow when Norwich City take on Ipswich Town in the Old Farm derby.

Bristol City made it six consecutive wins away to Blackburn Rovers thanks to an 80th-minute winner from Eros Pisano, to keep the Robins firmly in the play-off places. The team just behind them in seventh place, Derby County claimed a 2-0 win over Hull City thanks to a Martyn Waghorn brace. Birmingham City were involved in a seven-goal thriller away to Queens Park Rangers, in a match where Birmingham won 4-3 despite leading 4-0 at one point. Just a week after Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins resigned, the Welsh side did claim a 1-0 victory over struggling Millwall thanks to a goal from George Byers. Nottingham Forest made it back-to-back home wins under new manager Martin O'Neill thanks to a 2-1 win over Thomas Frank's Brentford. Steve Bruce, however, who took charge of his first home game as Sheffield Wednesday manager, did not experience the same success as Forest, as the Owls were held to a goalless draw by Reading. Down at the bottom end of the table, in a match involving two strugglers Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic (who were promoted from League 1 last season), the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw. Bolton Wanderers' relegation fears have grown bigger after they suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Preston North End, who have now not lost since New Year's Day.

In the evening kick-off, West Bromwich Albion got their promotion aspirations back on track following last week's defeat at home to Middlesbrough, as a Dwight Gayle goal sealed a 1-0 win away to Stoke City.
