Aston Villa have made yet another signing this summer, with the addition of Tom Heaton in goal.

Aston Villa have made their second signing of the day, as they have completed a move for goalkeeper Tom Heaton for Burnley. It is understood that Heaton has joined Aston Villa for a reported £8m fee, which may rise to £8.5m.

A club statement read: "Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Tom Heaton from Burnley.

The England international joins up with Villa for an undisclosed fee.

Once on the books at Manchester United, Heaton spent the early part of his career on loan at a number of clubs in the UK and abroad before signing a permanent deal with Cardiff City.

Following a brief stint with Bristol City, he made the move to Burnley in the summer of 2013.

In his time at Turf Moor, Heaton captained the club and was named Player of the Year for 2016/17.

His form for the Clarets earned him caps for England and he was part of the most recent Three Lions squad for this summer’s Nations League finals.

Head Coach Dean Smith said: “I am delighted that Tom is joining Aston Villa.

“He’s done fantastically well for Burnley over the past few years and his experience and knowledge of the Premier League will be a major asset to us this season.”"
