Round-up:
The Bundesliga action resumed following the international break with the traditional Friday night match, as Eintracht Frankfurt recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory thanks to a goal from Bas Dost which followed on from a brace from Goncalo Paciencia, with one of his goals coming from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, the action today saw newly-promoted 1.FC Union Berlin record only their second league victory of the campaign as they won 2-0 at home to SC Freiburg thanks to goals from Marius Bulter and Marcus Ingvartsen, which enabled them to move out of the relegation zone. Another team besides 1.FC Union Berlin to grab their second league win of the season were Fortuna Düsseldorf thanks to an 82nd minute goal from Rouwen Hennings which was sufficient to give them a 1-0 victory at home to struggling Mainz 05. Hertha Berlin's run of three successive victories came to an end, however they did extend their unbeaten league run to four successive matches, as they came from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw away to Werder Bremen thanks to a goal from Dodi Lukebakio, after Josh Sargent's seventh minute goal put the home side in front. Bayern Munich saw their winless run in the league extended to a second successive game as they were held to a 2-2 draw away at struggling Augsburg. The hosts took the lead after only a minute thanks to Marco Richter, before goals from Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry turned the game on its head and put Bayern in front, and it seemed as though it would be sufficient to give the reigning champions the victory. However, a 90th minute goal from Iceland international Alfred Finnbogasson helped Augsburg salvage a point and denied Bayern the victory. In fact, none of the top 3 sides won as Wolfsburg came from behind to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw away to RB Leipzig as Wout Weghorst cancelled out Timo Werner's earlier strike which had given the hosts the lead.
Finally, today's action concluded with Borussia Dortmund hosting league leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach, and it was the hosts who prevailed in a 1-0 triumph thanks to a Marco Reus goal which gave them their first league win since the 14th of September and ensured that none of the top 3 sides in the table won this weekend.
