Round-up: The Championship's weekend action began with an interesting clash between Leeds United and Derby County, with the two clubs being involved lots of drama last season between them. There was firstly the 'spygate' incident where a Leeds United official was spotted watching over Derby County's training session and led to Leeds being fined £200,000, before then there was the dramatic play-off semi-final which saw Derby overturn a one-goal deficit from the 1st leg as they won 4-2 at Elland Road and thus progressed to the final, before eventually being beaten by Aston Villa. This match did have drama, just like last season. The home side began the match as the dominant team, and they took the lead in the 20th minute thanks to a Max Lowe own goal. Despite their dominance, Leeds United were not converting their chances, but they had a golden opportunity to seal the win as they were awarded a penalty after Derby defender Matt Clarke fouled Patrick Bamford inside the box, however, they failed to convert the resulting spot-kick as Mateusz Klich placed it wide. This would ultimately prove an extremely costly miss as, probably against all the odds, Chris Martin, who has returned to Derby after two years out on loan, scored a 90th minute equaliser to earn them the most improbable of points. In the afternoon's action, there was a clash between early pace-setters Bristol City and Swansea City, which ultimately ended in a disappointing goalless draw even though in the 90th minute Swansea were reduced to 10 men after Jake Bidwell was shown a straight red card. Charlton Athletic suffered their second consecutive defeat as they were beaten 2-0 by Wigan Athletic thanks to a brace from Cheyenne Dunkley. One team who took advantage of the front runners slipping up was Preston North End, as Sean Maguire's 23rd minute goal was enough to give them a slender 1-0 win over Birmingham City, who saw a goal from Alvaro Gimenez chalked off for offside. Queens Park Rangers recorded four successive victories for the first time since 2014, as they won 2-1 away at Millwall. Nahki Wells put QPR in front in the 56th minute, before 15 minutes later Shaun Hutchinson levelled up. However, parity in the scoreline then lasted just one minute, as Nahki Wells bagged his second goal of the game, aided by some poor goalkeeping from Bartosz Bialkowski, and this ultimately proved to be the winning goal for QPR. Another side who moved into the play-off places was Nottingham Forest, as they recorded a narrow 1-0 win at home to Barnsley, as Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba produced some important saves before Ben Watson scored in the 56th minute to make it back-to-back wins for Nottingham Forest, who have not lost since the opening day of the season. Sheffield Wednesday needed a 93rd minute goal, which came from Kosovo international Adthe Nuhiu, to cancel out Tom Cairney's earlier strike which had put Fulham in front. The result ensured that Garry Monk's first home game in charge of Sheffield Wednesday did not end in defeat. Blackburn Rovers made it back-to-back wins as they deservedly beat Reading 2-1. Adam Armstrong and Bradley Dack's goals had put Blackburn into a 2-goal lead, before John Swift scored in the 57th minute to put Reading back in the game, however, this was not enough as Blackburn held on for the victory. Hull City earned their first win since the second league game of the season as they recorded an eventually comfortable 3-0 victory away to Luton Town. After a goalless first half, The Tigers went in front in the 63rd minute thanks to a brilliant goal from Kevin Stewart, before the win was wrapped up 3 minutes from time thanks to a Kamil Grosicki strike, whilst in the 90th minute Hull City had their third goal of the afternoon in the most bizarre of circumstances as Brad Potts was ultimately credited with scoring an own goal. Cardiff City extended their unbeaten run in the league to five consecutive matches as they recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Middlesbrough thanks to an Ashley Fletcher own goal after just 2 minutes, whilst Stoke City earned only their second point of the league season as they played out a goalless draw away at Brentford. There was one match which took place today, as West Bromwich Albion twice came from behind to eventually record a 4-2 win at home to struggling Huddersfield Town. It was Huddersfield who went in front thanks to Lewis O'Brien's first goal for the club after 16 minutes, though that lead lasted just 3 minutes as Matt Phillips equalised for the hosts. Karlan Grant put Huddersfield back in front in the 35th minute and they remained in front going into half-time. Darnell Furlong grabbed West Brom's second equaliser of the match in the 70th minute, before just 4 minutes later Matt Phillips bagged his second goal of the match to put the home side in front. The win was then wrapped up in the 89th minute thanks to Semi Ajayi's goal.
