It's been an impressive start to the new era for Blackpool, with two wins out of two.

Results: Bolton Wanderers 0 Coventry City 0 Bristol Rovers 0 Wycombe Wanderers 0 Fleetwood Town 2 AFC Wimbledon 1 Gillingham 1 Burton Albion 2 Ipswich Town 1 Sunderland 1 Milton Keynes Dons 1 Shrewsbury Town 0 Oxford United 1 Peterborough United 0 Portsmouth 2 Tranmere Rovers 0 Rochdale 1 Doncaster Rovers 1 Rotherham United 0 Lincoln City 2 Southend United 1 Blackpool 3

Round-up: Blackpool have made a flying start to the League 1 season under manager Simon Grayson, and today they extended their 100% start to the season in resounding fashion as they comfortably beat Southend United 3-1 away from home, despite being reduced to 10 men after James Husband saw red. It has been a poor start to the season, however, for Southend, having lost both of their opening matches. It has also been a very impressive start to the season for newly-promoted Lincoln City, as they too maintained their 100% start to the season after beating Rotherham United 2-0 away from home thanks to an own goal from Shaun MacDonald and a goal from Harry Anderson. Also maintaining their 100% start to the season were Fleetwood Town, who came from behind to beat AFC Wimbledon 2-1 thanks to goals from Paddy Madden and Josh Morris. In a match between two of the pre-season favourites for promotion, Ipswich Town and Sunderland could not be separated as Lynden Gooch cancelled out Luke Garbutt's early goal for Ipswich, making it almost the same old story in Sunderland's case as they have recorded two draws in two games (they drew 19 matches from 46 last season). Rochdale could not quite make it two wins out of two, as Doncaster Rovers scored a 90th-minute equaliser through Kieran Sadlier. Milton Keynes Dons, belatedly making their return to League 1 after last week's match against Bury (more on them later) was suspended, got off to a winning start as they scored a 90th-minute winner from Rhys Healey to beat Shrewsbury Town. Portsmouth bounced back from their defeat last week to Shrewsbury by beating newly-promoted Tranmere Rovers 2-0 thanks to goals from Ben Close and Tom Naylor. As for the clubs who are facing financial difficulties at the moment, Bolton Wanderers, who had seven of their starting 11 born after the Millennium, produced a heroic performance to hold Coventry City to a goalless draw. On the other hand, things are not so good for Bury, who had their second game against Accrington Stanley suspended as well after they failed to provide the necessary evidence that they can complete the season, and the EFL have threatened to expel the club if they do not provide the necessary documentation regarding their insolvency event within the next 14 days. Elsewhere, after going behind and failing to convert a penalty, Burton Albion came from behind to record a 2-1 victory away to Gillingham. It has also been a disappointing start to the season for Peterborough United, who were expected to perform well this season, as they suffered a second consecutive defeat - this time at the hands of Oxford United by a goal to nil, whilst Bristol Rovers and Wycombe Wanderers played out a goalless draw.
