Round-up: The weekend action in League 2 saw Swindon Town retain their lead at the top of the table, as they recorded a 1-0 win at home to Mansfield Town thanks to a 23rd minute goal from Eoin Doyle. Forest Green Rovers applied the pressure on the leaders as they recorded a 4-2 win away to Leyton Orient thanks to a brace from Ebou Adams followed by goals from Matthew Stevens and Lewis Mondal, with goals from Matt Harrold and Jordan Maguire-Drew proving to be a scant consolation for the hosts. Crewe Alexandra bounced back from defeat last weekend with a resounding 5-0 win at home to Morecambe which consigned the away side to the bottom thanks to goals from Tom Lowery, Charlie Kirk, Ryan Wintle and a brace from Oliver Finney. Exeter City kept up the pressure on the automatic promotion places thanks to a 1-0 win away at Crawley Town thanks to a 77th minute goal from Dean Moxey. Northampton Town moved up into fifth place as they recorded their fifth win in six games thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Grimsby Town, which was secured through two first-half goals from Scott Wharton and Vadaine Oliver. Dropping down the table, conversely, were Cheltenham Town, who salvaged a 1-1 draw at home to Colchester United thanks to a 70th minute penalty from Conor Thomas after Luke Norris had put the away side in front. Another team who dropped down the table were Bradford City, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Plymouth Argyle thanks to goals from Byron Moore and Joe Edwards, whilst an own goal from Niall Canavan proved to be insufficient to deny the hosts victory. As a result of their victory, Plymouth moved up into eighth place, as Port Vale suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Scunthorpe United thanks to goals from Kevin van Veen and Kgosi Ntihe after Jake Taylor had given the away side the lead. Meanwhile, Macclesfield Town, despite facing a charge of misconduct from the EFL as players have not been getting paid due to problems off the pitch, earned a useful point in a goalless draw away at Salford City. Oldham Athletic put some distance between themselves and the bottom of the table, as they recorded a 1-0 triumph away at Newport County thanks to a goal from Zac Mills right on the stroke of half-time. Stevenage moved off the bottom of the table, and therefore out of the relegation zone, as they recorded a goalless draw away at Walsall, whilst Carlisle United and Cambridge United also played out a goalless draw.
