Charles Leclerc will start the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix on pole position, after Max Verstappen was given a 3-place grid drop for failure to slow down due to a yellow flag which was caused by a nasty crash for Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas. However, fortunately Bottas, following medial checks is fine. It is fair to say that Verstappen's incident was needless as he was already on provisional pole, and none of the drivers behind him would have been in a position to improve their laptime. As a result of Verstappen's grid penalty, Leclerc's team-mate Sebastian Vettel will line up in second place to make it a Ferrari 1-2, with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton lining up in third.
