Marco Giampolo has lost his job as Milan manager after less than 4 months in charge.

AC Milan have announced the sacking of manager Marco Giampaolo after a mere three-and-a-half months in charge, with the club lying in 13th place having won only 3 of their first seven league games despite having spent in excess of €110m (£98.7m).

A club statement read: "AC Milan announces it has relieved Mr. Marco Giampaolo from his position as coach of the First Team. The Club is grateful to Marco for the work carried out and wishes him all the best to come in his professional career."
