Victor Camarasa will be returning to the Premier League on loan, this time with Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis, with the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.

A club statement read: "Spanish midfielder Victor Camarasa has joined Crystal Palace on a one-year loan deal from La Liga side Real Betis, with the south London club also having an option to buy the 25-year old at the end of this season.

Camarasa began his journey through the youth ranks with his hometown club Valencia CF aged just seven – at the same Academy which helped develop Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita - before joining Atlético Levante UD in 2012, with whom he began his senior career. Having played for Levante's reserve team, Camarasa earned his first-team debut against Recreativo de Huelva in 2013. During his time with Levante, Camarasa also featured for Spain Under-21s on four occasions.

In 2017, he joined Real Betis before being loaned to then-Premier League side Cardiff City the following summer. With the Bluebirds, Camarasa played in 33 matches, scoring five goals and registering four assists to help him secure recognition as Players' Player of the Season and pick up the club’s Goal of the Season award for a remarkable effort against Leicester City.

Having put pen to paper in south London, the 25-year-old said: "I am very happy to be here, and I’m so excited to start with the group. I think Palace has great players and it is a great club. I’m going to work hard to play football, and I hope that the fans are excited with my football.”

Manager Roy Hodgson said: “Víctor is a player we were keen to sign and I’m delighted he’s decided to join us. He is a strong and technically gifted midfielder and will be a great addition to the team.”

Chairman Steve Parish added: “I’m delighted that we’ve signed Victor, and we think he will further improve the quality of our squad. He is a talented, exciting player who will offer us creativity in the midfield.”
