Round-up: The Premier League action continued with two early evening fixtures played on Monday. Brighton & Hove Albion hosted Newcastle United in a forgettable match which ultimately ended goalless, and as a result, Brighton & Hove Albion have guaranteed their place in the Premier League for next season. Meanwhile, in a match which had implications in the battle for European football, Sheffield United hosted Everton. After a goalless and rather dull first half, Everton opened the scoring thanks to Richarlison right in the beginning of the second half. This led to a more entertaining second half, and despite Sheffield United's best efforts, they failed to find a way through a stubborn Everton defence in a result which significantly dents Sheffield United's hopes of European football for next season.
