Lucas Moura proved to be a super sub today, as he came off the bench to give Tottenham a point at the champions.

Round-up: In the early kick-off, in a match between two teams who both got their seasons off to a winning start, it was Arsenal who extended their 100% record after they beat Burnley 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It was Lacazette who gave the Gunners the lead in the 13th minute of the game, before Burnley's striker Ashley Barnes, who always seems to be a handful for defenders in the Premier League, equalised for Burnley two minutes before half-time. After the introduction of Nicolas Pepe in place of Reiss Nelson for the second half, Arsenal improved their performance and it was Aubameyang once again who scored the winner for Arsenal (having done so last week against Newcastle) after an assist by midfielder Dani Ceballos who was very impressive on debut. Having suffered an opening day defeat away to Liverpool, newly-promoted Norwich City bounced back in impressive fashion as they beat Newcastle United 3-1 thanks to a brilliant hat-trick by Finnish striker Teemu Pukki, who has already bagged himself four league goals this season (in fact, all of Norwich's goals this season have so far been scored by Pukki), with Jonjo Shelvey scoring a 90th minute consolation for Newcastle, who are still without a point under new manager Steve Bruce. The other promoted team in action today, Aston Villa, however, suffered a second successive defeat, this time at the hands of AFC Bournemouth thanks to a second minute penalty from Joshua King, and a goal 10 minutes later from Harry Wilson, making his first start for the Cherries since a loan move from Liverpool - with Douglas Luiz's second half goal not enough for Aston Villa. Although it is still very early days, it has been a terrible start for Watford, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton thanks to a 10th minute goal from Brazilian midfielder Bernard. It has also been a very disappointing start to the season for Southampton, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool, after a wonderful goal from Sadio Mané and a goal from Roberto Firmino, whilst Danny Ings scored a consolation for the Saints after an inexplicable gaffe by Liverpool's stand-in 'keeper Adrian. Meanwhile, West Ham United bounced back from a 5-0 opening day humiliation at the hands of champions Manchester City with a 1-1 draw away to Brighton & Hove Albion, after Leandro Trossard, who earlier had a wonderful volley goal disallowed after defender Dan Burn was in an offside position in the build-up, cancelled out Javier Hérnandez's opening goal for the Hammers.

In the evening kick-off, rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur ultimately played out a 2-2 draw. Raheem Sterling gave the reigning champions the lead in the 19th minute with a headed goal after a wonderful assist by Kevin de Bruyne. Their lead did not last that long, however, as just 3 minutes later Erik Lamela equalised for Tottenham, although goalkeeper Ederson's positioning left a lot to be desired it must be said. City did regain the lead before half-time though, as 12 minutes later Sergio Aguero scored a brilliant low cross from De Bruyne. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino made an attacking change in the 56th minute in a bid to get the draw, replacing Harry Winks with Lucas Moura, and it had the desired effect as just 17 seconds later Moura scored with a header from a Tottenham corner. Just under ten minutes, Pep Guardiola decided to replace Aguero with Gabriel Jesus, and Guardiola and Aguero seemingly exchanged a few nasty words. It seemed like champions Manchester City found the winner in the 92nd minute via Gabriel Jesus, however, the goal was disallowed via the VAR after in the build-up to the goal defender the ball inadvertently hit his arm - and under the new rules "Any goal scored or created with the use of the hand or arm will be disallowed this season even if it is accidental."; this will certainly be the talking point of the match.
