Round-up: The Premier League action on Wednesday began with 3 matches which kicked off simultaneously. Manchester City, who this week had their ban from European competitions overturned, recorded their third successive league win as they edged out AFC Bournemouth 2-1 thanks to goals from David Silva and Gabriel Jesus, with David Brooks grabbing a late consolation for AFC Bournemouth, whose chances of retaining their Premier League status took a dent with this result. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers' slim hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League via league position (they may still qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League) suffered a massive blow as they conceded a 96th minute penalty which Burnley striker Chris Wood converted, after Raul Jimenez had put Wolves in front 15 minutes from time. Tottenham Hotspur kept their hopes of securing a place in the Europa League alive as they recorded a 3-1 win away to Newcastle United thanks to a Heung min-Son goal which was followed by a Harry Kane brace.
