Round-up: The Premier League action resumed following the international break with the return of José Mourinho, as Tottenham Hotspur travelled to West Ham United in a London derby in the early kick-off. In the end, it was the away side who prevailed in a 3-2 triumph which was probably more comfortable than the result actually suggests. Tottenham took the lead in the 36th minute thanks to a goal from Heung min-Son, however, it must be noted that West Ham goalkeeper Roberto left a lot to be desired in the way he dealt with the shot, in addition to his absolutely woeful showings of late. Tottenham then doubled their lead thanks to a 43rd minute goal from Lucas Moura, before Harry Kane made it 3-0 in the 49th minute. Michail Antonio, who was arguably West Ham's best player of the match despite only playing the second half, did get rewarded for his efforts as his 73rd minute goal made the scoreline 3-1, before Declan Rice had a goal disallowed for offside via the VAR. Angelo Ogbonna then bagged West Ham's second goal of the game which proved to be a scant consolation in what was effectively the last meaningful attack of the match. In the afternoon's action, Liverpool maintained their eight-point lead at the top as they recorded a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace thanks to an 85th minute goal from Roberto Firmino, after 3 minutes earlier Wilfried Zaha had cancelled out Sadio Mané's 49th minute goal which had put Liverpool in front. Leicester City retained second place as they recorded their third successive 2-0 victory in the league, this time away at Brighton & Hove Albion thanks to a goal from Ayoze Perez followed by a Jamie Vardy penalty. Vardy actually initially did not convert the penalty, and although James Maddison headed in on the rebound, the referee ordered the penalty to be retaken and Vardy made no mistake at the second attempt. Wolverhampton Wanderers extended their unbeaten league run to eight consecutive league matches, as they recorded a 2-1 victory away at 10-man AFC Bournemouth thanks to first half goals from Joao Moutinho and Raul Jiménez, whilst Steve Cook bagged a consolation for the hosts who saw Simon Francis sent off for two yellow cards. Meanwhile, Norwich City moved off the bottom of the table as they recorded a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Todd Cantwell and Dennis Srbeny to pile the pressure on Everton manager Marco Silva. Speaking of under pressure managers, Arsenal did little to ease the pressure on their boss Unai Emery, as they twice came from behind to salvage a point at home to Southampton, as goals from Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse were cancelled out by an Alexandre Lacazette brace for the hosts, with his second goal coming in the 90th minute. As mentioned earlier, Norwich City today moved off the bottom of the table, and they did so at the expense of Watford who today suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Burnley who recorded their second successive league victory thanks to goals from Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes via the penalty spot, and James Tarkowski. The action today came to a conclusion with an entertaining match which saw reigning champions Manchester City host an in-form Chelsea side. In the end, it was the champions who prevailed as they came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez, after N'golo Kanté had put Chelsea in front, whilst Raheem Sterling had a late goal for the hosts disallowed for offside.
