Round-up: After they were held to a draw at home to Tottenham last week with some VAR drama involved, reigning champions Manchester City provided the perfect response as they got back to winning ways, winning 3-1 away to AFC Bournemouth. Early in the game City goalkeeper Ederson was booked after he rushed out of his goal in a bid to get to the ball but was beaten to it by Callum Wilson of Bournemouth and the goalkeeper ended up taking him out. Not long after, Sergio Aguero took advantage of some poor defending to give City the lead. It has been a brilliant start to the season for Raheem Sterling also, and he doubled City's lead three minutes lead. Just as it looked like City would head into half-time with a two-goal cushion, Harry Wilson struck a sensational free-kick to haul Bournemouth back in the game. In the second half, Bournemouth did push to try and haul themselves level, and might have done so with a Callum Wilson chance which was well-saved by Ederson. It looked like City had a reasonable shout for a penalty as Jefferson Lerma inadvertently trodded on David Silva, but nothing was given despite a VAR check - not that it affected them too much though, as less than five minutes later Aguero grabbed his second goal of the game which sealed a 3-1 win for the champions. In what was a surprise result this weekend, Newcastle United went to Tottenham Hotspur and won 1-0 against all the odds thanks to a goal from club-record signing Joelinton. It has to be said that Tottenham were rather poor and did not really like scoring, even if they might have had a potential penalty - though it would have been soft - for a possible foul by Jamaal Lascelles on Harry Kane. There was one other game which took place at the same time as Tottenham's, as Wolverhampton Wanderers hosted Burnley and the two sides ultimately could not be separated. Ashley Barnes claimed his fourth goal in three games as he gave Burnley the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour in the game. It looked like Burnley were going to bounce back from defeat away to Arsenal last week with victory, but there was late drama, as unlike in the Tottenham and Man City matches, Wolves were awarded a penalty after a foul by Erik Pieters in the penalty area - and Raul Jimenez coolly converted the resulting spot-kick to rescue Wolves a point, meaning that they remain unbeaten yet still winless.
