Manchester United took the lead at the end of the first half, one in which they produced a rather unconvincing performance it must be said, thanks to a penalty won and converted by Bruno Fernandes, which was his first goal for the Red Devils since signing for the club at the end of January. Watford did have the ball in the net thanks to striker Troy Deeney, however, the VAR correctly disallowed the goal due to a handball from Craig Dawson in the build-up, and United took full advantage of that stroke of fortune thanks to a brilliant chip from Anthony Martial before academy graduate Mason Greenwood scored a brilliant goal 15 minutes from time to cap off a second successive victory for the hosts. At the same as the Manchester United game, Wolverhampton Wanderers hosted a Norwich City struggling down at the bottom, a game which was moved to today due to Wolves' Europa League commitments on Thursday (the same reason why Manchester United actually played today). In the end, Wolves recorded a comfortable 3-0 win thanks to a first-half brace from Diogo Jota, following on from his Europa League hat-trick on Thursday against Espanyol, before the win was wrapped up 5 minutes into the second half thanks to a goal from Jota's strike partner Raul Jiménez as Wolves kept up their hopes of qualifying for European football once again next season. The action today concluded with a match down in North London, as Arsenal hosted Everton in a match between two clubs who have enjoyed markedly improved fortunes since they faced off back in December thanks to the managerial appointments of Mikel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti respectively. All it took was 49 seconds for the scoring to be opened, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton the lead from a set-piece in which Arsenal's defending left a lot to be desired, to say the least. In addition to falling behind early on, Arsenal suffered another blow as left-back Sead Kolasinac went off injured in the 18th minute to be replaced by Bukayo Saka, however, on a more positive note, it was Saka who produced the cross for Eddie Nketiah who levelled the scoring thanks to his side-footed volley. Arsenal then took the lead just six minutes after equalising thanks to a goal from star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, before Richarlison brought Everton back on level terms right on the stroke of half-time after yet more poor Arsenal defending. The second half was less than half a minute old when Aubameyang bagged his second goal of the game to put Arsenal back in front, and his second goal proved to ultimately be the winner as Arsenal recorded their second consecutive league win, the first time they have won back-to-back league games since August. Interestingly, today's game between Arsenal and Everton was only the third ever in Premier League history in which a goal was scored in the opening minute of both halves.
