Round-up: The Premier League's weekend action with four fixtures on Sunday, starting in the North West as Burnley hosted Sheffield United in a match where neither side could ultimately be separated. Burnley took the lead 2 minutes before half-time from a set piece thanks to a rare goal from defender James Tarkowski, which rather came against the run of play. It was a match in which the defenders were doing the job of the attackers, as it was John Egan who equalised for Sheffield United 10 minutes from time to salvage a point. The action continued up in the North East, as Newcastle United hosted a West Ham United side fresh from their victory at home to London rivals Chelsea last Wednesday. West Ham United took the lead inside only 4 minutes thanks to a goal from Michail Antonio, before that lead was cancelled out in the 17th minute thanks to a Miguel Almiron strike. West Ham then restored their lead in the 65th minute thanks to Tomas Soucek, however, they blew that lead once again only two minutes as Jonjo Shelvey equalised for Newcastle to salvage a point. Champions Liverpool played their first game at Anfield since being confirmed as champions, as they hosted an Aston Villa side struggling in the relegation zone. After some stubborn resistance by the away side, in what was a far from optimal performance, Liverpool bagged two second half goals from Sadio Mané and Curtis Jones to bag a 2-0 victory and bounce back from the 4-0 hammering they suffered on Thursday at the Etihad. Finally, the action came to a conclusion down on the South Coast, as Southampton recorded a 1-0 victory at home to Manchester City thanks to a Che Adams goal, his first since signing for Southampton roughly around a year ago.
