Round-up: The Premier League action for matchweek 32 came to a conclusion with two matches played today, starting in Sheffield as Sheffield United hosted Tottenham Hotspur. In what may be seen as an unexpected result, it was the home side who prevailed in a 3-1 win. Sheffield United took the lead in the 31st minute thanks to a neatly worked move which was finished off by January signing Sander Berge, who in the process bagged his first goal for the club. Tottenham had the ball in the net less than two minutes later thanks to Harry Kane, however (and correctly by the letter of the law), the VAR disallowed the goal after an accidental handball by Lucas Moura in the build-up to it. It was a game in which Tottenham largely bossed the possession, however, throughout the game they were lacking a cutting edge in the attack - and Sheffield United went on to double their lead after some promising build-up play which resulted in a simple tap-in for Lys Mousset. However, it is fair to say that for the second goal Tottenham's defending left a lot to be desired. Sheffield United then went on to score a third goal thanks to Oli McBurnie, who had a brilliant game - although, again, Tottenham's defending once more left a lot to be desired. Harry Kane then bagged a scant consolation for Tottenham from the one move (barring the disallowed goal) in which the Sheffield United defence was opened up. The action concluded with a clash which would have generated considerable hype, but given that Liverpool were confirmed as champions last week, which meant that their clash away to Manchester City became largely redundant in meaning. The hosts gave the away side a guard of honour at the start of the game, but it was probably the only thing they did give to champions Liverpool, as Manchester City produced an absolutely dominant performance. Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, after Raheem Sterling was fouled by Joe Gomez. Sterling then doubled Manchester City's lead 10 minutes later after some brilliant counter-attacking football, and Phil Foden bagged Manchester City's third goal right on the stroke of half-time. The scoreline was wrapped up in the 66th minute after Raheem Sterling's shot inadvertently hit Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and went into the net, which meant that Oxlade-Chamberlain was accredited with the own goal. Riyad Mahrez did have the ball in the net in the 90th minute, however, VAR disallowed the goal after an unintentional handball by Phil Foden in the build-up.
