Round-up: The fourth weekend of the Serie A action began with a match on Friday night, as Cagliari earned their second consecutive win by winning 3-1 at home to Genoa. After a goalless first half, it took just one minute of the second half for Cagliari to go ahead thanks to a goal from Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone's son, Giovanni. It looked like Genoa might claim a share of the spoils as they equalised with just seven minutes remaining, though it was Genoa themselves who put Cagliari back in front as Cristian Zapata ended up putting the ball into his own net. The win for Cagliari was then wrapped up 3 minutes from time thanks to a goal from Joao Pedro.

There were three matches which took place on Saturday, starting with newly-promoted Brescia recording their second league win of the season as they won 1-0 away to Udinese thanks to a goal from Romulo. Reigning champions Juventus bounced back from their disappointing stalemate last week away to Fiorentina as they came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Hellas Verona. Hellas Verona went in front in the 20th minute thanks to a goal from Miguel Veloso, though their lead lasted just 11 minutes as Aaron Ramsey bagged his first goal since joining Juventus in the summer. Juventus were then awarded a penalty early in the second half, and Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to convert it to put them ahead. Moreover, Hellas Verona were reduced to 10 men as Marash Kumbulla was shown a second yellow card in the 90th minute. The standout match which was played on Saturday was the first Derby della Madonnina as AC Milan 'hosted' Inter Milan (the two sides share the same ground, but AC Milan on this occasion were the designated ‘home’ team). It was the Nerazzurri, Inter Milan who ultimately came out on top as they extended their 100% start to the season as a result of a 2-0 win which saw goals from Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku.

The action on Sunday kicked off with Sassuolo hosting SPAL 2013, as the hosts prevailed in a 3-0 win, with Francesco Caputo being the protagonist as he bagged a first-half brace, before Alfred Duncan wrapped up the win with a goal just 2 minutes into the second half. Sampdoria gave new manager Eusebio Di Francesco his first league win of the season, as they registered a slender 1-0 win at home to Torino thanks to a goal from Manolo Gabbiadini in the 56th minute. Di Francesco's former side, AS Roma made it back-to-back league victories as they won 2-1 away to Bologna thanks to a 90th-minute winner from Edin Dzeko, despite the fact that they were reduced to 10 men five minutes earlier as Gianluca Mancini was shown his second yellow card of the match. Aleksandar Kolarov had put the Giallorossi in front in the 49th minute, before Nicola Sansone equalised for Bologna from the penalty spot. Due to this result, AS Roma have maintained their unbeaten start to the season and move into the top four. Napoli also made it back-to-back wins as they recorded a comfortable 4-1 win away triumph over newly-promoted Lecce. Fernando Llorente scored in the 28th minute to put Napoli in front, before they doubled their lead five minutes before half-time thanks to a Lorenzo Insigne goal from the penalty spot. Fabian Ruiz racked up Napoli's third goal of the game 7 minutes into the second half, before Lecce scored a consolation goal thanks to a penalty of their own, which Marco Mancosu converted. Napoli then restored their 3-goal lead eight minutes from time as Llorente bagged his second goal of the game. After suffering a humbling 4-0 defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Atalanta returned to Serie A action by coming from two goals down to draw with Fiorentina. Federico Chiesa put Fiorentina ahead in the 24th minute, before they doubled their lead in the 65th minute thanks to Franck Ribery. However, then Atalanta got back in the game in the 84th minute thanks to Josip Ilcic, before they salvaged a point in the 90th minute thanks to a goal from Timothy Castagne. Lazio bounced back from their disappointing defeat to SPAL a week earlier by beating Parma 2-0 thanks to goals from Ciro Immobile and Adam Marusic.
