Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of teenage winger Jack Clarke from Leeds United for a fee believed to be around £8.5m, and Clarke will return to Leeds on loan for the 2019/20 season. Clarke becomes Tottenham Hotspur's first signing since January 2018 when they signed Lucas Moura, as the club did not make any signings in the last two transfer windows, due in part to the redevelopment of their ground.
A club statement confirming the signing read:
"We are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Clarke from Leeds United.
The 18-year-old has agreed a contract with the Club until 2023 and will return to the Championship side on loan for the 2019/20 season.
Born in York, the winger came through the ranks at Leeds and made his breakthrough last season under Marcelo Bielsa, playing 25 times and scoring two goals as the Whites reached the Championship Play-Offs.
The teenager was also named the Leeds United Young Player of the Year for his performances.
Jack said: “I’m delighted to join Tottenham and in the short term I’ll be giving my all to hopefully help Leeds win promotion.”"
