Round-up: The Champions League's second matchday began with 13-time European champions Real Madrid coming from 2 goals down to draw at home to Club Brugge, in what is an undoubtedly disappointing result for the home side. Emmanuel Dennis put Club Brugge in front inside only 9 minutes, before he doubled this half an hour later in the 39th minute and Brugge went into half-time with a two-goal lead, and this led to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane substituting off goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (who was not injured) during half-time. Sergio Ramos' 55th minute goal got Real Madrid back into the game at 2-1, before six minutes from time Club Brugge went down to 10 men as their captain Ruud Vormer was sent off for two yellow cards, and from the resulting free kick Real Madrid salvaged the draw thanks to Casemiro. Meanwhile, in the other match which took place in this group, Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead at the top of the group as they won 1-0 away to Turkish side Galatasaray thanks to a Mauro Icardi goal. In what was the standout fixture of the day, Bayern Munich demolished Tottenham Hotspur in a remarkable 7-2 win away from home thanks to some clinical finishing. Somewhat surprisingly, it was Tottenham who took the lead thanks to Korean international Heung min-Son in the 12th minute. However, that lead lasted a mere 3 minutes as Joshua Kimmich equalised for Bayern, before they went in front right on the stroke of half-time thanks to Robert Lewandowski. The scoreline became 3-1 after just 8 minutes of the second half thanks to Serge Gnabry, before he bagged his second goal just 2 minutes later to give Bayern a 3-goal cushion. Tottenham were handed an opportunity to reduce the deficit as they were awarded a somewhat contentious penalty after Kingsley Coman was deemed to have fouled Danny Rose in the penalty area, and Harry Kane converted the resulting penalty to make the scoreline 4-2. Gnabry completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute for Bayern, before Lewandowski bagged his second goal of the game in the 87th minute, and a minute later Gnabry bagged his fourth goal of the match to seal a remarkable 7-2 win for the German champions. Meanwhile, in the other match that took place in this group, Red Star Belgrade came from behind to beat 10-man Olympiacos 3-1. Ruben Semedo put Olympiacos in front in the 37th minute, before the game was turned on its head in the 58th minute as Yassine Benzia was sent off for a second yellow card, and then Red Star Belgrade scored 3 goals through Milos Vulic, Nemanja Milunovic and Richmond Boakye which gave them the victory.

In another match which kicked off, Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk came from behind to win 2-1 away to Atalanta. Atalanta were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute, however, Josip Ilcic failed to convert it before they then took the lead in the 28th minute through Duvan Zapata. Shakhtar Donetsk equalised four minutes before half-time thanks to Junior Moraes, before they completed the comeback in the most dramatic fashion imaginable, a 95th minute winner from Manor Solomon. The other match in this group saw English champions Manchester City record a 2-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb thanks to a 66th minute goal from Raheem Sterling before Phil Foden, on as a substitute, wrapped up the win in the 90th minute.

In the last of the groups which saw matches played today, Italian champions Juventus recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, who remain without a point after two games, thanks to goals from Gonzalo 'Pipita' Higuain, Federico Bernardeschi and Cristiano Ronaldo. In the group's other match, Atlético Madrid recorded a 2-0 win away to Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow thanks to goals from Joao Felix and Thomas Partey.
