Round-up: During this international break, there will be qualifiers taking place for the European Championships which will be taking place in 2020. The action began today, when Armenia hosted Italy in Group J. In what was somewhat of a surprise, it was the hosts Armenia who took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to striker Alexander Karapetian. Their lead lasted just under 20 minutes, as in the 28th minute Torino striker Andrea Belotti levelled for Italy. If conceding a goal was not disappointing enough for Armenia, Karapetian, who gave them the lead, was sent off right on the stroke of half-time for a second yellow card. Despite playing all the second half with ten men, Armenia held out for just over half an hour, before AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini put Italy in front in the 77th minute, and they wrapped up the win just 3 minutes thanks to Belotti who grabbed his second goal of the game and ensure Italy maintained their 100% record in the qualifiers. There were two further matches in the group, which took place later on. In what has so far been an impressive qualifying campaign, Finland extended their impressive run by securing a 1-0 win over Greece thanks to a Teemu Pukki penalty which has certainly boosted their prospects of qualifying automatically for next year's Euros. The other match was between Bosnia & Herzegovina and Liechtenstein, with the former coming out on top in a 5-0 win where four goals were scored in the last 10 minutes of the match. There were two matches which took place in Group D. Denmark, who made it into the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup, comfortably beat minnows Gibraltar 6-0 thanks to two Christian Eriksen penalties, as well as a brace from Christian Gytkjaer in addition to goals from Robert Skov and Thomas Delaney. The other match of the group involved table-topping Republic of Ireland who hosted Switzerland. Switzerland were the better team during the match, and were rewarded for their superior play in the 74th minute thanks to a Fabian Schar goal. However, the Republic of Ireland did not give up and in the 85th minute equalised thanks to Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick, to ensure that they currently remain unbeaten at the top of Group D. Another group where matches took place was Group F, which saw Sweden resoundingly win 4-0 away to Faroe Islands thanks to an Alexander Isak brace, as well as goals from Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof and Robin Quaison. In addition, Norway won 2-0 at home to Malta. Sander Berge gave them the lead in the 34th minute after a throw-in which was launched in the box, where it has to be said the Maltese defending was pretty poor to put it kindly. It looked as though Malta would head into half-time with just a one-goal deficit, however, right on the stroke of half-time Norway were awarded a penalty which Joshua King converted and thus sealed a 2-0 win. In the third game of this group, Spain maintained their 100% record in the group by winning 2-1 away to Romania thanks to goals from Sergio Ramos via the penalty spot and Paco Alcacer. Florin Andone bagged what proved to be a mere consolation for Romania, and actually they failed to take advantage of the fact that Spain were reduced to 10 men after Diego Llorente was sent off ten minutes from time. There was also one game from Group G involving Israel and North Macedonia, which ended in a 1-1 draw after Arijan Ademi cancelled out Eran Zahavi's earlier goal for Israel. The other matches from this group will be taking place tomorrow, as Austria host Latvia whilst Slovenia host group leaders Poland.
